From 2021
Deutsche Post is preparing for the digital age. GMX and Web.de customers will particularly benefit from this. Starting in the summer, they can know in advance the letters the postman will bring to them every day.
Whether it's a tax assessment notice, an employment contract, or a college admissions certificate, we want to know where the important letter is and want to know if it will arrive today. This will soon be possible, at least for GMX and Web.de customers. In cooperation with mail providers, Deutsche Post will launch a new free "letter notification" service in the summer, which will notify you via email about the appearance and sending of letters.
To do this, the envelopes are photographed during the sorting and then the photos are sent to the user via email. Of course, this requires your approval first. From 2021, the content of the letter should also be able to be delivered via email or an application provided for this purpose. Then the letters were legible before entering the mailbox!
On the other hand, all Swiss Post customers will soon have more detailed package tracking information. Beginning with morning loading, a delivery time window of 60 to 90 minutes will be displayed with a countdown of the remaining deliveries until shipment. You can then use Google Maps to see the location.
