In a tweet, Call of Duty developers announced fastest possible improvements for their titles Warzone, Vanguard and Modern Warfare announced and also go into more detail on which issues are currently being worked on.
What exactly happened?
The official Call of Duty Twitter account takes a turn with the words A message to our community
to Warzone, Vanguard and Modern Warfare players. Following three tweets, in which the developers express their understanding of the frustration in the player base and what fixes and improvements they are currently working on. The latest implemented changes are also listed:
The developers promise, among other things, updates for the three titles as soon as possible
to implement. It should be one seamless gaming experience
for all platforms, games and game modes. Feedback is welcome and a critical ingredient
a successful development process.
The tweets then go into more detail about the work on Warzone and Vanguard:
In Call of Duty: Warzone the next step is to improve performance on the consoles, fix invisible skins and fix crashes when using supply stations.
Also in Call of Duty: Vanguard one works on the solution of various problems: Here, for example, shotguns should become weaker and incendiary ammunition should cause less smoke. Work is also being done to improve map rotation and server selection filters. All planned changes can be found in the picture.
Why is the statement so important?
The mood in the COD community is pretty bad given the numerous bugs and problems in Warzone and Vanguard. While the developers have tried patches to improve the situation, the issues considered most important by many players have been neglected or addressed in controversial ways.

Developers plan controversial gameplay change
This is probably why many fans got the impression that the developers were acting without regard for the community and without any feedback. In order to regain the trust of the player base, the message to the community is an important first step.
How are the fans reacting?
The comments on the tweet see Call of Duty’s open communication as generally positive. the Warzone-Streamer NRG Isaac is very pleased, for example:
We’ve noticed the big changes in communication over the last week. Thanks for that. Understandably, communication has been relatively slow over the holidays, but the level of transparency and interaction is now better than anything we’ve experienced since Warzone launched. We love it!
However, some fans remain cautious or skeptical. Although the tweet itself is well received, it remains to be seen what will actually be delivered. So writes the user @ItsHunterTV
Thanks for acknowledging how broken Call of Duty is, but actions speak louder than words.
Der User @DANNYonPC on the other hand, cannot resist a side swipe and remarks:
Hey @battlefield, it’s your turn.
Parallels to Battlefield and Rockstar
The actually commendable communication offensive of the developers of Call of Duty could also be used by others. As noted by @DANNYonPC, there are many Battlefield fans disappointed not only with the latest installment in the series, but also with the communication from the developers.
In the new year so far only the clumsy tweet from Andy McNamara in focus, which only made the anger in the community boil up further. That’s why the Battlefield 2042 subreddit keeps sinking into fruitless toxicity that doesn’t do the players any favors:

More open and regular communication and the acknowledgment that Battlefield 2042 is not yet what fans expected and the developers promised would certainly not be wrong. Of course, such a statement would also have to be linked to the credible promise of wanting to improve the game as quickly as possible.
And Rockstar hasn’t exactly boasted about communicating with the community lately either. Red Dead Online fans now fear the game’s eventual demise due to the switch from weekly to monthly updates.
The type of announcement also caused trouble here: You learned about the changeover in a teaser that a year full of adventures
promised. If Rockstar had honestly communicated here that weekly updates are simply no longer worthwhile, perhaps more understanding might have been expected. You can find out more about this in our news:

Why fans finally fear the death of the game
Of course, clear, honest, and regular communication with players isn’t all it takes to maintain a positive climate in the community. If a game is plagued by bugs or lacks content, it’s annoying for fans, communication or not.
But those who know, for example, why these deficiencies exist, whether they are being worked on, and when they will be fixed, are more likely to remain patient than someone left completely in the dark about what’s going on behind the scenes.
