Developers react surprisingly openly to the disastrous last update

developers, disastrous, openly, React, Surprisingly, update

Season 1 Reloaded started in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on January 17, 2024 – but it was anything but a successful start. Serious bugs made the first-person shooter completely unplayable for some.

On Reddit and Co., players let out their anger about “the worst update of all time.” Now the developers are reacting in a statement on theirs official X channel.

Developers apologize for update disasters

Even days after the update release, some players still cannot log in and wait in vain for information about it from the developers. On January 19, 2024, the bug chaos will be clarified on X (formerly Twitter), followed by an apology:

In the statement, the devs address the issues players encountered during the launch of Season 1 Reloaded and explain why their response to them was delayed:

We are in the process of laying the groundwork for the return of some popular features for future seasons, which requires certain preventative measures in our live environment. Yesterday’s update was released alongside some of these measures, which is why we unfortunately encountered a conflict between live player data and our servers.

“Our teams were immediately made aware of the problems and began investigating shortly after the update was published,” the development studio further emphasizes.

They then apologize to players for any disruption caused by the update. Such a situation does not correspond to their own high standards.

The community reacts predominantly positively to this openness and is understanding in their reactions to the post. This is how the user thanks you Metaphor to the developers for honest communication: “The fact that you spent the whole night making updates shows a lot! Thank you and hopefully communication will continue to be transparent!«

Also users Fifakill_ reminds again how important transparency is for fans:

I like to see that. Transparency is incredibly important to us so that we don’t feel misled or betrayed.

It is no secret that large publishers are not always so transparent and open. It is all the more important that the teams behind Call of Duty set an example here and signal to fans that they are aware of the current problems.

How do you comment on the transparency of the developers? Have you already played the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Did you also encounter problems and if so, what were they? Are you as understanding as the community on X or should such serious bugs generally not appear in such a large team? Feel free to write us your thoughts in the comments!
