Capcom removed Denuvo from Devil May Cry 5 on the PC.
Devil May Cry 5 I received a small update on my PC early this morning. Although Capcom has not released an official patch note, SteamDB recorded changes to the game's .exe file when the patch was released.
The only change in this updated version is the removal of Denuvo's tamper-resistant DRM. Indeed, Denuvo is no longer mentioned on the game's official Steam page.
For Capcom, this change is actually not unexpected, and Capcom will usually remove Denuvo from the game release within a year. Resident Evil 2 Remake removed its own version of Denuvo last December. Currently, Monster Hunter World is the only latest version of Capcom released using Denuvo DRM.
In recent years, Denuvo has become a swear word in the game. Some reports suggest that games using Denuvo will impact PC performance due to Denuvo's use of the CPU, while others have found that when Denuvo is eliminated, their benefits are negligible.
Capcom's upcoming Resident Evil 3 will use Denuvo at launch. If you have been looking for a chance to play Devil May Cry 5, be sure to check out useful tips on SSS combos.
