Since the release in September 2021, Diablo 2: Resurrected fans have been waiting for a very special feature: the ladder. So far there hasn’t been a ranked season in the remake of the action RPG classic – but that’s about to change.
With today’s release of the major patch 2.4 for Diablo: Resurrected, there is now a start date for the first ladder and huge patch notes. It starts in two weeks!

According to the current plan, the ladder of Diablo 2: Resurrected will be released on 29. April 2022
Like Diablo 2, there will be four different ranked modes in Diablo 2: Resurrected. These break down as follows:
- Classic Ranking: The classic four-act version of the Ladder.
- Classic Hardcore Ranking: The hardcore version of the four-act ladder where you only have 1 life.
- Expansion Ranking: The classic ladder that spans five acts as the content from Lord of Destruction is implemented.
- Hardcore Leaderboard Expansion: The hardcore version of the five-act expansion ladder, where again you only have 1 life.
If you want to participate in the ladder, you should note that you have to create a new character for the season. During this time, this only remains playable in the ladder. Only after the end of the season will your Ladder character become an unranked character while keeping their gear and other items.

You’ll also get time afterwards to bring your items from the Ladder’s shared stash to normal online play. In the current case, it means that you have time after the end of Season 1 until the start of Season 3 to secure your items. If you miss the deadline, the items in the chest will be lost forever.
Diablo 2: What else does patch 2.4 bring?
Patch 2.4 not only brings the ladder to Diablo 2: Resurrected, but also includes a lot of balance changes – the first since 2010! Almost all classes are affected, with the developers emphasizing that they should lead to more variety and not restrict current builds.

In addition to the individual class changes, there are also new runewords for the ladder, fresh recipes for the Horadric Cube, some bug fixes, and much more. For the individual changes, we refer again to the patch notes, which you can find on page 2.
