Activision Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 had grossed $666 million in sales in just the game’s first five days. That number might have been tweaked a bit to fit Diablo’s satanic theme, but it’s still an impressive milestone.
The news comes a week after Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 was the fastest-selling game in its long and storied history, so it makes sense that it made so much money.
Unfortunately, the publisher still hasn’t revealed any hard sales figures. The $666 million was based on sell-through, that is, copies sold to customers rather than simply shipped to retailers. What’s more interesting is that it doesn’t include any microtransaction sales — Diablo 4 had a lot of them — so the game’s actual revenue is likely to be much higher.
Diablo 4 was also the #1 game on Twitch from June 1 (early access release) to June 9. It also broke Blizzard’s records for streaming hours and viewing hours during the same period. This helps the company team up with Twitch for a massive multi-week Twitch Drops event that will run until July 3rd.
