Blizzard says servers “may be a bit bumpy on day one” Diablo 4 release.
That’s according to the game’s general manager Rod Fergusson, who told GamesRadar that despite being prepared, it’s “never say never” when it comes to server stability.
While the studio has been working hard since the open beta, people should brace for potential issues as millions of people may be knocking on Sanctuary’s door.
“We’ve done what we can to make launch day as smooth as possible. We feel good about where we are,” Fergusson said.
“We’ve done the work and done a lot of testing, so we’re ready. But you know, never say never. The first day might be a bit bumpy, but we hope, like we did on those weekends. , we learn and adapt.”
Blizzard held a second public beta, called “Server Slam,” for everyone on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 from May 12-14 to try and hack the servers. The beta helps the company prepare for future releases of the game.
After the early access beta back in March, Fergusson said that due to various issues discovered during testing, as well as server-side issues, the issues faced would “pay off” with the full release.
The game will be released on June 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Check out our Diablo 4 review to see what we thought of it.
