Diablo 4’s construction season is approaching, and bug reports are starting to come in. Players have encountered a progress-blocking bug in seasonal missions, and thankfully, there is a workaround for the bug.
Of course, no one likes bugs, but some bugs may be popular with players for the simple reason that the “bugs” are actually features that many people have been asking for from Blizzard.

The problematic new bug was first encountered by Reddit user Freeloader_, who posted about it on the Diablo 4 subreddit. The bug simply shrinks the camera and increases the field of view. Judging from the screenshots they posted, the zoom level is about the same as the zoom level you get when turning in a quest to the Whispering Tree, but a little closer than the world boss level zoom level.
Incredibly, this bug seems to persist in Freeloader even after entering and exiting dungeons, leading some in the comments to ask that they never log out and continue enjoying new levels of scaling. It looks like this:
For some reason my game is scaled down

The comments are full of players pointing out how long the request for a wider field of view, or at least the option to adjust the zoom level, has been around. In fact, this question comes up in almost every developer live stream, and Blizzard’s answer is always the same: the developers are working on it, but there are some technical issues that need to be resolved first.
In fact, this level of zoom is already possible in Diablo 4, but only under certain circumstances, so we do know it’s possible. Of course, there were concerns that older consoles might not be able to handle the added complexity in the framework, although Blizzard has always only made the feature available on PC and current-gen consoles.
Predictably, many reviewers are jealous of Freeloader, and some even say they’d happily pay for it. However, others are hoping someone can find a way to easily replicate this in their own games.
