Blizzard has officially revealed a lot of content for Diablo 4's next season. The game's Season 7 (which has yet to be titled) will begin on January 21st, but the Patch 2.1 Public Test Realm (PTR) will begin much earlier.
The 2.1 PTR will launch on Tuesday, December 3, but as usual, it will only be available to PC players on BattleNet. However, the PTR will also include seasonal content for the first time, and it won't be limited to core gameplay tweaks for the new season.

Season 7 is all about sorcery and using those skills in combat. It works similarly to Season 2 Vampire Powers, allowing characters to gain unique powers that expire at the end of the season. Interestingly, some of these powers can only be found in the world by finding altars in dungeons and activating them.
The main modding enemy this season will be the Rotheads. Killing them will drop Restless Rot, which you'll use to unlock new powers for your character. Sorcery powers can also be upgraded, and Blizzard has even made the process more streamlined than in Season 2. You have five normal powers and one unique piece of equipment.
Unique limited-time gems will also return. Mystic gemstones can be placed in your jewelry, and they have their own witchcraft abilities.
Gain reputation by connecting with the Whisperers, and that's your grind this season. Another way to find and kill Rotheads is in the Helltide-like Headhunting Zone, which also doubles as the Whispering Zone.
Speaking of which, Blizzard has made some quality-of-life updates in Whispering Mills. The towns surrounding the Whispering Tree have been upgraded with more services and a layout that is easier to navigate. The biggest news, however, is the new “Tree Crow” feature, which allows you to turn in your Whispers without returning to the tree. You'll find them in the headhunting area.
In terms of general gameplay, one of the big tweaks in 2.1 is the upgrade to the ultimate ability. Going forward, when the ultimate skill reaches level 5, it will become more powerful, or its damage ratio will increase. You can even make them more powerful by selecting the right skill in the skill tree and the right node in the Paragon panel.
More broadly, many of the game's professions have received buffs. Some of this will be the result of changes in certain passive ways of working. Technically, the Eldar wasn't nerfed, but there were a few issues that caused it to be more powerful than intended in Season 6. When these issues are fixed, the class won't be as powerful as it is now.
Another major new feature is the Armory, which allows you to save and load multiple loadouts for each character, and change between them without spending gold. Each load can also have a different Paragon board. Armories can be found in a variety of locations, including Sanctuary Towns, Whispering Trees, training areas, and even inside castles.
As with every new season, the loot pool will expand with new unique items, and some existing items will be adjusted to be more consistent. New legendary aspects are also coming, including some power-ups for ultimate abilities.
