Now that all the patch notes are out, we’ll get a real in-depth look at everything Diablo 4 has to offer very soon. One major quality-of-life addition that doesn’t get enough attention has to do with event timers. Things like Hell’s Tide require you to hover over the event icon to see the time remaining in the event.
Well, patch 1.3.0 finally makes the event timer always visible on the world map. This is especially good news because Hell Tides will always be playing in rotation (except for five-minute breaks).
Speaking of Hell’s Tides, the icons for both the Mysterious Chest and the Living Steel Chest have been changed so that they stand out more when you’re looking at the map and trying to figure out where they are.
There’s also a small tweak to the way your character looks when it has/is about to have the Chill/Frozen status effect. The visuals have been updated to gradually show increasing intensity, which should make it easier to see how close you are to being completely frozen.
As previously announced, players using controllers will not only have a better experience when trading gold, the mount button bindings on controllers have also been tweaked, with Blizzard saying the new layout is more intuitive.
Those who are into min-maxing will be happy to know that any bonus from a keyword (such as Rage) will now show whether the bonus is additive or multiplicative. This should work well with the new skill tree rework preview, as you’ll be able to refund an entire path or plex and see the refund cost before submitting for re-spec.
However, if you’re looking to maximize your appearance, you should be delighted by the fact that Uber Uniques are now unlockable as transmog options.
Elsewhere in the patch notes, there are updates to Temple of Greed. After the effect ends, the shrine will now drop some additional gold coins, based on the number of enemies killed while the buff was active.
Finally, the Mark of Purification (the mark earned when completing a Nightmare Dungeon) will always reward you with a mark one level above the dungeon you just completed. This is increased in conjunction with the Distilled Fear gained from completing Nightmare Dungeons.
