game news Diablo IV: A simple button triggers the hellish fury of the players, Blizzard has to react urgently
In the Diablo IV menus, the placement of a button in particular is heavily criticized, which leads to bad purchases!
The editor Did Blizzard voluntarily put the button to buy the Battle Pass Premium? from Diablo IV, where the Players would accidentally click on it ? That really begs the question…
Blizzard created an interface that intentionally tricked its players into buying the Battle Pass?
The start of The first season of Diablo IV was plagued with problems, and the players are increasingly dissatisfied. One of the reported issues is at the center of much controversy: accidental activation of Battle Pass Premium. Streamer Rurikhan expressed his displeasure with a supporting video showing him Accidentally activated the Season 1 Battle Pass Premium simply by going to the season menu. According to Rurikhan, Blizzard would have done it The “Activate Premium Battle Pass” button was intentionally placed next to the button that checks season progress, resulting in unwanted purchases. More than just the proximity of the keys to each other should be considered By default, the cursor is on the activation of the pass, not the progress button. In other words, him just an accidental click to buy the pass (this is especially true on console, since on PC the keyboard-mouse combination makes the click error less easy since the cursor is not placed by default) if you have a Battle Pass token. This practice has been heavily criticized Some do not hesitate to categorize this design as an intentionally misleading design. Famed streamer Rhykker also contributed to the review. Call Blizzard to add confirmation to avoid such situations.
When you go to the “Season” tab, the default selection is always “Activate Premium Pass”. They knew exactly what they were doing.

Rurikhan: Blizzard has therefore placed the “Activate Battle Pass Premium” button right next to the button you need to keep pressing to check your season journey (season progress).
Guess what happened to me and at least 5 other people on my stream. This is simply a malicious design.
When we go to the “Season” tab, the slider selects “Enable Battle Pass Premium” by default. They knew exactly what they were doing.
I did this 100% randomly. I had a BP from my ult edition pre-order and was considering waiting until S2 to use it given the issues with the last patch. This type of design does not happen by accident. So frustrated and disappointed. 😡🙁

rhymes: If a UI element is designed in such a way that it entices you to click, it is called a “dark pattern”. In my opinion, Blizzard needs to add a confirmation button or something like that if they don’t want to be accused of using deceptive interfaces. A simple “confirm” popup would solve this problem.

Adam FletcherDirector of Global Community Development for Diablo IV announced that a A temporary fix will be provided. It will change that Default selection on the Season tab., causing the cursor to move from “Activate Battle Pass Premium” directly to “Season Journey.” This patch should be deployed as early as next week. However, Players remain suspicious and unsatisfied Dealing with persistent issues in Diablo 4. I’m not sure if that’s enough to reassure some playersconvinced of Blizzard’s desire to entice them to buy.
I’d recommend a temporary BP reset button for those who wanted to save their BP and accidentally used it, but I doubt it can be used within the season’s timeline. I’ve seen hundreds of mentions make the same mistake I did. Much luck. I hope things improve.

Adam Fletcher: I just had a brief meeting with some people about this after the stream. We’re working on a temporary fix that at least ensures that the cursor isn’t placed there by default, but instead is on “Season Journey”.
Rurikhan: I would recommend a temporary button to reset their Battle Pass for those who wanted to save their Battle Pass for later and accidentally activated it, but I doubt it can be delivered in time for this season. I’ve seen hundreds of mentions make the same mistake I did. Much luck. I hope things improve.
We will be releasing an update that will default the cursor to “Season Travel” in a small update early next week as an immediate fix.

Dennis Topolski: Guys… The Activate Battle Pass Premium button is ridiculous. Such an option MUST have a confirmation button. There has to be one… he’s super dodgy.
Adam Fletcher: We will have an update that will default the slider to Season Journey as an immediate fix in a small patch early next week.
