The new Diablo IV is known to launch in June with five different character classes, but Blizzard Entertainment may already be planning the release of a sixth class behind the scenes. We can now speculate about this, at least on the occasion of the design of a merchandise item for the game.
Blizzard Entertainment may already have concrete plans for a sixth character class in the upcoming Diablo IV. At least that’s what a merchandise article about the game suggests, which, on closer analysis, could reveal more about a supposed sixth grade.
In the Blizzard Gear Store, you can now purchase a Diablo IV-themed stone jar with a lid; Pre-orders are now possible in this regard. There are all kinds of reference points to the new game on the jug and lid, especially with regard to logos and badges from the world of Sanctuary. For example, the logos and images of Lilith and Inarius, the two important characters in Diablo IV, can be found on it.
The YouTuber Dark LORE Dash took a much closer look at the whole thing and came across an interesting detail. There are six more symbols on the cover; five of which are the five official symbols of the known character classes playable in Diablo IV at launch. So does the sixth symbol in this ranks already indicate a sixth grade? That would certainly make sense given the arrangement.
The sixth symbol represents that of the Triune cult known to be responsible for the return of Lilith. If you spin the whole topic further, then a supposed sixth character class could take up the Triune theme, for example be a warlock or death knight class.
In the past there has been a lot of speculation that the Paladin or Templar class from previous games could also find its way into Diablo IV. Finally, the game lacks a Holy Magic class with heavier armor. Going instead for a Death Knight or even a Hell Knight from Blizzard would fill in the missing armor-magic archetype in a surprising and new way – and that in turn could go well with Diablo IV’s darker style.
Of course, there is no official confirmation, but in view of the merch article, we can now speculate eagerly about the topic. First of all, Diablo IV will be released on June 6th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S with the five well-known classes.
