Blizzard Entertainment has good news about Diablo IV ready in a live stream: You will have the chance to convince yourself of the action role-playing game again before the release. As part of the next beta test phase, the servers are to be put through their paces.
In fact, we all assumed that it was until release, when Diablo IV open beta testing was last completed – but that’s not the case. As part of a live stream, Blizzard Entertainment has now surprisingly announced another open beta for the action role-playing game before the full version is released.
The developers themselves are running the new beta under the name “Server Slam”, so they want to test the servers and their resilience above all, so that the entire server structure may not necessarily collapse under the onslaught at the official start of sales. The corresponding test run is planned as part of the beta event from May 12, 2023 from 9:00 p.m. to May 14, 2023 at 9:00 p.m.; Interested parties should mark this in red on their calendars. Unfortunately, the beta also collides with the launch weekend of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
All of the rewards you scooped up in previous testing will return in the new Open Beta. The level cap is again 20, but according to Blizzard, numerous balance changes and further feedback have already been implemented due to the earlier test phases.
Progress made in previous betas cannot be carried over to the May beta, so you will have to start over from here. Furthermore, there is no transfer of progress to the finished game. If you have reached the maximum level, you cannot earn any new skill points, but you can continue to collect equipment. Legendary item drop rate has been adjusted to match the launch version of the game.
The full version of Diablo IV will be released on June 6, 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders can sometimes start as early as June 1, 2023.
