The open beta is over, the release of Diablo IV is still two months away. A good time to give some more information to the curious players, thought Blizzard and commented on the endgame.
Everyone can certainly imagine that Diablo IV will follow the old pattern, that the actual game only really starts after the end of the campaign. Because after the campaign, it only gets really fun to keep expanding the characters and equipping them with new equipment. What awaits us in the endgame was still quite unclear, apart from aspects such as dungeons and higher levels of difficulty, but in a new developer video the developers tell us what we can do there.
The start of the endgame is a final dungeon that awaits you after playing through the campaign. Once this is completed, the first world tier will be unlocked and you will have the opportunity to unlock another level of difficulty. This means significantly tougher opponents, but of course also significantly better loot. In order to do justice to the opponents, the Paragon system will supplement the normal skill trees. With the Paragon Points you can further develop and specialize your characters.
Of course, the more than 120 dungeons in the game will remain, and you can reset them at any time. However, there is the possibility of modifying the dungeons with so-called seals. Nightmare dungeons are significantly harder, have more quests, and certain modifiers such as Hellgate, which means that as the dungeon progresses, a portal will randomly open and spit out additional enemies.
The overworld also gets special endgame content, including activities called Infernal Tides with tough monsters and additional effects like meteors that make your life even harder. You can also use a bounty hunt system to bag special rewards at the Whispering Tree.
A PvP activity called Fields of Hate is also waiting for you. It is important to collect special fragments, which you then have to clean before you can spend them. The problem: other players can try to prevent you from cleaning and get the splinters from you. This should be a lively fight for those who are not satisfied with dealing with monsters.
Blizzard has promised to continue delivering new endgame content after launch. So boredom shouldn’t arise in the long run from June 6th, when the game will be officially released.
