Gaming industry veteran Vince Zampella assumes a new role in a little-known EA studio.
Dice Los Angeles, An American sister studio that is the creator of Battlefield in the United States, has long been regarded as a support studio, it provides content for DICE's main franchise, and in some cases designs.
The studio has not led the development of its own project, but this is about to change. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, EA revealed that DICE LA will now be led by Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella.
One of Zampella's top priorities is to rebrand the studio and expand the team to work on unannounced projects. The studio also did not join the Respawn team. Instead, it will soon start running independently in the EA.
"We want to give it a new look," Zampella told the magazine. "We want people to say,‘ this is the destination where you can create new content. ’”
Laura Miele, EA's chief studio office, said: "I think that under Vince's leadership, I expect them to do their own work and create games."
"I think we will have a very strong studio in our Los Angeles location. They can create new gaming products from the support team to a full independent studio."
Vince Zampella will also continue to monitor the output of Respawn, and his attention has now shifted to the Medal of Honor: Beyond after the recent release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
