DICE has become during this generation the spearhead of Electronic Arts. Its Frostbite engine has been the basis of almost all video games published by EA, from FIFA to Dragon Age, through Mass Effect, Anthem, Need for Speed, Battlefront and obviously, Battlefield. After Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V, DICE seems to have lost the impact that the previous titles generated. While they continue to maintain their Battlefield V community thanks to constant updates, it is true that they have been delayed due to poor content planning, something that EA wants to solve.
In the face of the new launch of a Battlefield, which is likely to occur in 2021, EA has announced that there have been internal changes in DICE, where leadership positions have suffered ups and downs, to face this new development and do things differently, as they have in VG247.
It has also been confirmed that Vince Zampella will have nothing to do with the new Battlefield, and that its incorporation to DICE LA is due to create another type of games, in addition the name will be changed to that study, for – more than likely – to unlink it from DICE and its games. DICE LA will work on own projects led by the developer that has made Respawn Entertainment the new EA star studio.
