It was in 2013 when The Last of Us landed on PS3, but the truth is that the franchise Naughty Dog is booming. The arrival of the second season of the series is creating a lot of expectation and the remake released last year for PS5 and PC also encourages revisiting Joel and Ellie’s adventure.
Among the most outstanding images of the work is the mythical initial menu in which we can see a window through which light enters. The scene changes slightly, showing or not a knife stuck in the wood depending on whether we have finished the video game. All in all, the most striking change between the revision and the original version is in the lighting.
And while in the PS4 remaster and PS3 the light is daytime, in The Last of Us Parte I It’s an orange sunset. Striking, of course, but the developer herself has confessed on his Twitter account that a code can be entered on said screen to change the light itself. Here you can see a video of the sequence.
@naughtydog Happy TLOUDay! Did you know you can use a Left Behind Easter egg to manually change the main menu lighting in The Last of Us Part I? Just press ⬇️⬇️⬆️⬆️⬅️⬇️➡️🔺 (E on PC) on the main menu! #TheLastOfUs #TheLastOfUsDay #TheLastOfUsPartI #LeftBehind #EasterEgg #AngelKnives #TheTurning #Arcade #NaughtyDog
To create the effect, you just need to press: up, up, down, down, left, down, right and triangle -in the case of PC users, you must press the E key-. If you do it correctly, you will see that the menu returns to the appearance it had more than 10 years ago, which is a great detail for the most nostalgic.
And no one had realized that introducing this pattern caused the change in the title, so Naughty Dog got tired of waiting and revealed it during the celebración del The Last of Us Day. It took place on September 26 and, as usual, there were no news related to more deliveries, but there were merchandising from the Sony saga.
