GTA 6 blew up YouTube with its announcement trailer at the end of 2023.
Grand Theft Auto 6 was probably the biggest game announcement of 2023. For years, fans were looking forward to a successor to GTA 5, which was released in November 2014 for the PS4 and in April 2015 for the PC.
On December 5, 2023, the fan prayers were answered and the continuation of the action game series was presented with a stylish trailer. Rockstar breaks record despite trailer leak
Just recently, publisher Take-Two announced its company’s latest figures and CEO Strauss Zelnick took a stand IGN Time to catch up on the leaked trailer. He doesn’t believe the leak actually caused any damage:
It’s great when just the trailer announcement is big news, and then we were very pleased when the trailer itself broke the internet. We couldn’t be happier or more excited about it. (…) As for the leak, it’s always disappointing for the team, but in the end I don’t think it hurt us.

Rockstar reacted quickly to the leak and promptly posted their 90-second trailer earlier YouTube-Kanal uploaded – the video has despite the early publication »the internet broken« and reached over 85 million views in less than 24 hours (now over 174 million!).

A specific release date for GTA 6 is not yet known, but the action game is scheduled to appear sometime in 2025.
An 18-year-old American was responsible for the leak, who committed a criminal offense and was ordered by a court to be held in a detention hospital for an indefinite period of time.
