The racing game DiRT 5 released last November gets an important update this week; this includes cross-play support.
Codemasters announced the release of a major update to DiRT 5 this week. The focus is on a feature that gamers particularly want: cross-platform matchmaking.
The new cross-play support enables gamers to play together on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The Stadia version will also be included in the future; the integration into the common matchmaking pool of all platforms will take place later in the year.
Thanks to the new feature, the public lobbies will in future be able to connect players from different platforms and take up online activities together. Online games should also be found faster in the future thanks to the larger common user base, so that you can enter the relevant races.
In addition to the cross-play feature, the title also includes various new content related to Red Bull. There will be eight new paint finishes for the well-known energy drink. These can be used on the vehicles Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, MINI John Cooper Work Buggy by X-raid, Peugeot 3008 DKR Maxi, Volkswagen Race Touareg 3, Porsche 911 RGT and Peugeot 208 WRX (three paint finishes here).
