DiRT Rally 2.0 was well received by the fans and has had a lot of seasons and events behind it. But now the developers are turning to new tasks.

DiRT Rally 2.0 has had four seasons and the Colin McRae: FLAT OUT Pack behind it, to the delight of the rally fans. But that is largely over now. As Codemasters announced in a community letter, there will be no more seasons, only a few minor updates and a few surprises are still on the list. And the regular challenges are to be continued.
There is a reason to step on the brakes, because Codemasters apparently is working on a new rally game in the DiRT series, which is not being developed by the DiRT rally team. This is supposed to be a completely new rally experience. The game is expected to be officially announced shortly and if you look at the wording, the release doesn't seem too far away either. However, no further details have yet been given.
Apart from that, there are obviously still big plans for the series. Codemasters also mentions that there will be no talk about this any time soon.
