The manufacturer Google recently released the new Android 15 operating system and started the rollout for its Pixel series smartphones. However, the update seems to have catastrophic consequences for two models.

The affected users refer to the new “Private Space” feature – they had just switched on this new Android 15 function and then their Pixel 6 devices crashed. With “Private Space” you can hide apps on your smartphone behind a password. Samsung cell phones can already use a similar feature.
Users describe their Pixel 6 devices as crashing completely. Classic troubleshooting methods, such as holding the power and volume down buttons or connecting to a computer, are said to have been unsuccessful. What is particularly bitter is that one user reported that when he asked, Google told him that the device’s warranty had already expired. The Google Pixel 6 smartphones were released in October 2021.
Beware of the Android 15 update on older Pixel smartphones
Android Police reports that their Pixel 6 is still working after updating to Android 15. However, since many users report a complete crash after the update, it would be better to avoid the Android 15 update for the time being if you have not installed it yet.
