Developer behind Disco Elysium share they are working on a new patch and assures they will “try again until we get it right”.
Disco Elysium – The Final Cut Dev Assures Playstation Patch Is Being Worked On
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut developer ZA/UM have shared details of upcoming changes and improvements coming with the next patch for Playstation consoles. So far there is no confirmed date on when this update will roll out, but hopefully the patch will help fix a number of issues which have cropped up in the Playstation version. This includes a number of voice-over problems, controller issues and unfortunate save bugs.
The developer shared in the latest post about the patch: “Maybe blame it on the Doomed Commercial Area, birthplace of doomed dreams, resting place for every venture. Blame it on an incursion of the apocalypse in a localized space, or whatever Tequila Sunset hits you with. Blame it on a call to Abigail”.
While that might be one reason, they did express is was “human” error if anything and simply “dreaming big” but falling a bit short of those dreams.
Either way ZA/UM promise to continue on working on these key issues and have outlined some patch notes for 1.3 on their official website:
- Tons of Voice Over fixes
- Improved Kim pathfinding
- Fixed controller interaction during Seafort Dream
- Fixed controller interaction with The Pigs
- Fixed Sandcastle interaction
- Fixed car interaction
- Fixed instances where the tide never receded near the swings
- Fixes pawnshop healing interaction
- Fixed Thought Cabinet freezes
- Fixed save game bugs
- Fixes for Cutscene locks and edge-case interactions with controllers
- And little bit this and that, general house cleaning after stormy development!
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut released on March 30th for PC and PS5, promising 4K with 60 FPS for the Playstation version. This edition also came with a free upgrade to those who already owned the game on PC. Final Cut added quests that didn’t make it into the original version of the game, and the major edition of voice acting.
Hopefully ZA/UM can turn this around and get the patch out so next-gen players can enjoy their favourite quirky detective RPG with all the amazing voice acting.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is available on PC and Playstation 5. It will also be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021.
