Disney + has plans for a new Marvel series in the “Black Panther” kingdom of Wakanda. “The Walking Dead” star Danai Gurira is supposed to play the main role.

- The superhero series is set to take place in the fictional kingdom of Wakanda. Gurira plays her role as Okoye from “Black Panther” again.
- Director Ryan Coogler, who also directed “Black Panther”, is developing the new Disney + series.
The Marvel-Universum is at Disney+ getting bigger! Now the next project has been arrested. It is a “Black Panther” series set in the Kingdom of Wakanda. The main role should be from Danai Gurira “The Walking Dead“to be played.
Gurira takes on the role of Okoye, which she already played in “Black Panther”, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: EndgameShe will also be seen in the second “Black Panther” film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, as Okoye, leader of the Kingsguard, known as Dora Milaje.
The Disney + series is produced by “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler. His production company had recently signed a five-year deal. A start date has not yet been set.
It should be an Origin story. So the story takes place before the events of “The First Avenger: Civil War” and “Black Panther”. The series joins a list of other Marvel series on Disney + such as “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier“.
The latter series even featured Dora Milaje, but Okoye did not. The small group of women warriors was led by Ayo (Florence Kasumba) in “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”.
