Alien vs. Predator, does that sound familiar? We’ve had movies, video games, and a whole bunch of comics. You know, there should be a full-length animated film, too. This one is even ready to use but obviously won’t come out.

animated blood

Between comics, video games or movies, The crossover between Alien and Predator is well known and even, we can admit, quite iconic. It was a really good idea to bring these two mythical monsters of cinema together, creating a very exclusive lore and obvious potential.

Just that the films here are what they are in the cinema landscape, some will concede that there was undoubtedly something better to do. Because of this, 20th Century Fox apparently decided to produce an Alien vs. Predator animated miniseries based on the 2004 film. Le hic, is that Disney has since bought Fox and obviously hasn’t made up its mind to release the project.

Maybe one day

He is the former licensing director of 20th Century Fox. Joshua Izzo, who revealed the pot of roses during an interview with Comic Book Movies:

Currently waiting in the closets at Disney at 20th Studios is 10 episodes of a fully completed Alien vs. Predator animated series that I produced! It’s done, it’s in the box, it’s assembled, it’s over. The screenplay was produced and written by Eric Calderon and Dave Baker, two incredibly talented guys.

This is probably the worst thing to hear as a fan: The all-new series in question is already operational and could air if Disney had decided to do so. Instead, the Mickey company is the language of wood at the moment.

Note that the director is none other than Shinji Aramaki, the man behind Blade Runner Black Lotus. “It’s been seven years since I did this project and unfortunately I don’t know why it never came out.”, he admits on Twitter. Maybe someday we’ll be entitled to broadcast it, for example on Disney Plus.
