During the chase His mother disappears from the hands of a minotaur to save him
However, the first two episodes of the new series Percy Jackson and the Olympians were released on December 20th. This new adaptation, directed by Jon Steinberg, is said to be closer to the original work with a youthful cast, like in the books. The series consists of 8 episodes in total, released one per week. What does the press think?
The press praised the first episodes very much. The parallel to previous films is obligatory and critics agree. After just two episodes, the series adapts Percy’s universe better than the films. For Tele Loisirs, “Although these first episodes are introductory and fairly general, they are still enjoyable to follow“. For its part, widescreen applauds the performance of the actors and the composer : “A charismatic hero, a well-constructed scenario – all the ingredients seem to come together for a successful adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novels. The icing on the cake is that the soundtrack by American composer Bear McCreary has just the right amount of epicness to completely transport us..”
In addition to the obvious parallel to the Percy Jackson films, another, much more laudatory comparison emerges. As a matter of fact, With a very young cast for a promising adaptation that is also based on a number of successful books, the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series could eclipse Harry Potter. “With its three heroes we have the impression of finding a little of the soul of Harry Potter, albeit to a lesser extent.
