News culture Disney +: films, series, releases that you should not miss in May 2024
Among all the events planned to celebrate World Star Wars Saga Day on May 4th, there is one that can only be discovered on Disney+. This is of course the Star Wars: Tales of the Empire series, but it will not be the only novelty to discover on the platform in May.
Star Wars: Tales of the Empire
From May 4th, for once, the 6 episodes of the new animated series Star Wars: Tales of the Empire will start simultaneously on Disney+. As hinted in the official trailer seen above, The idea is to look into the dark side of the Force This time it sides with the Galactic Empire.
This animated series is part of a similar logic to that which enabled the creation of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi in 2022. We will discover the story of Morgan Elsbeth, the sister of the night Who plays a key role in the series? Star Wars: Ahsoka and what we could also see in an episode of the second season of The Mandalorian.
The second story arc was supposed to be dedicated to the character Barriss Offee, a former Jedi whose story is also closely linked to that of Ahsoka Tano. We hope that the 6 episodes of the series Star Wars: Tales of the Empire will be able to provide convincing answers to the remaining questions, although the short format will certainly not make things any easier. You’ll also have to stick to the 3D rendering as you attempt to unravel the secrets of the dark side of the Force.

Shardlake: Shadow Detective
Before the series Shardlake: Shadow DetectiveIt is a saga of historical crime novels written by the English writer CJ Sansom. The author develops realistic political intrigue in the context of 16th century England. The adaptation, available on Disney+ from May 1st, is inspired by the very first volume of the saga. The story takes place during Tudor rule, when lawyer Matthew Shardlake is hired to investigate the murder of an emissary from the Earl of Essex. The survival of Scarnsea Monastery depends on its mission, but the monks don’t seem very willing to cooperate.
This original series will be available in its entirety on Disney+ starting May 1st. The essential Sean Bean plays the Earl of Essex, Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII’s sinister right-hand man. The role of Matthew Shardlake is assigned to Arthur Hughes, whose actions are apparently being closely monitored by the character Jack Barak (played by Anthony Boyle), who may well be a spy…

The Beatles: Let it be
Fans of The Beatles’ music can watch the restored version of the film on Disney+ on May 8th. let it be. This documentary by Michael Lindsay-Hogg was originally released in 1970, shortly after the band’s breakup, and was very difficult to find. This is the reason why This has been completely restored and represents an essential addition to the documentary series The Beatles: Get Back made in 2021 by Peter Jackson. Pauline
Just because of the inconsistency in the synopsis, the fantasy series Pauline deserves mention here. All the clichés are there: the heroine who gets pregnant after a one-night stand, the manifestation of supernatural powers or even that baby that could very well be the offspring of the devil… Will the child desired by the Queen of Hell herself fall into the hands of evil forces? Will her mother succeed in saving the world? And who is this program actually aimed at, which obviously emerged from a grueling brainstorming session? Too many unbearable questions remain, which will likely be answered on Disney+ starting May 22nd.
