  • The Star Wars universe expands on Disney+ with two new animated series.
  • “Young Jedi Academy” features Padawans of the High Republic, “Tales of the Jedi” focuses on Ahsoka and Count Dooku.
  • There was also new information about series hits like “The Mandalorian” and “The Bad Batch”.

While the live-action series about Ahsoka Tano isn’t coming to Disney+ until 2023, the animated Ahoka will be seeing us again this fall. More specifically, we witness a young Ahoka in the new animated series “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi”.

Three of the six episodes tell what happened to Ahsoka before she first appeared in The Clone Wars. Each episode should examine a different part of Ahsoka’s youth. The other three episodes focus on Count Dooku’s early years. The villain from “Episode 2: Attack of the Clones” was also once a Jedi and trained his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn.

However, “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi” is just one of two upcoming “Star Wars” series announced during Star Wars Celebration 2022 in California. “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” awaits us in 2023. The series, aimed at a younger audience, follows the training of various Padawans in the High Republic era.

The High Republic will play a bigger role in the “Star Wars” universe in the future and there are already various novels, young adult books and comics that tell of the wedding of the Republic. Since there were hardly any major dangers there, this period is of course suitable for a children’s series.

In addition to the two new series, a lot more was announced during the Star Wars Celebration. Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” has been given a start date, a fourth season has been confirmed and “The Bad Batch” is returning to Disney+ this fall. You can find out more about the upcoming “Star Wars” productions and the new features in the Disney+ program at Netzwelt.
