In 2017, the RPG epic Divinity: Original Sin 2 appeared for the first time, back then only for the PC. In the meantime, other implementations followed and as of today, the game from Larian Studios conquers another platform.
The previously announced version of the role-playing game for Apple’s iPad will be officially available from May 18, 2021. The definitive edition of the title can now be purchased in the App Store.
The new version was developed over almost two years in collaboration with the St. Petersburg-based Elverils. The focus was on bringing the game to the new hardware without compromises and losses in terms of quality or features. The aim was to publish a high-quality and mobile version of the complete gaming experience that is at least equivalent to the PC and console versions. The release on iPad takes place without microtransactions and with all Gift Bag DLCs.
The multiple award-winning RPG epic should keep you busy for over 100 hours on the go. Fans of the genre can look forward to a real pearl, after all, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has an excellent Metacritic score of 95.
The iPad version has been optimized from the ground up for metal and uses the advantages of the Apple hardware accordingly. The user interface has been specially adapted for touch control, but connected devices such as gamepads, mouse and keyboard are also supported – including the DualSense of the PS5.
The game runs with the highest graphics settings on the iPad Pro 2018. On the 2021 iPad Pro with the M1 chip, the title also runs at 60 fps – even in local co-op, which also supports seamless split-screen and drop-in / drop-out co-op. The full list of supported iPads can be found in the App Store and should be consulted before purchasing.
And: Cross-play between PC, Mac and iPad is also supported, as is cross-save between platforms. For example, you can continue a game you have started on the Mac.
