Fallout: London, a massive modding project designed to let Fallout 4 players explore the ruins of the British capital, has had its release date pushed back to April 2024.

If you’re not familiar, Fallout: London has been in development for a few years, and the team behind it has provided plenty of sneak peeks at its interesting factions and locations. However, the mod has now been delayed until the upcoming spring to avoid conflicts with Starfield.

In a statement posted on social media, the team behind Fallout: London confirmed that the game is now set to release on April 23, 2024, a date that’s fitting as it marks St. George’s Day, celebrated in England ‘s patron saint. As outlined in the announcement, it also happens to coincide with the arrival of Amazon’s Fallout TV series on April 12, making this a very crowded month for Fallout fans.

As for the reasons behind the schedule change, the team cited the fact that the tests it has conducted so far “may not have been as robust as we had hoped.” This is thought to be a knock-on effect of the fact that “a large portion” of Fallout London’s team “come from conflict-affected areas, which understandably affects their focus on modding.”

“Our commitment is to do everything we can to provide you with a polished and near-flawless experience. We only get one shot at first launch,” the statement continued. “As a result, we decided to err on the side of caution and choose to postpone. Not only does this new date allow us to complete sufficient testing, but it is also consistent with expectations for the Fallout TV series.”

To coincide with the news, the team released another cool update video on YouTube that provides an “in-depth overview” of the mod’s features, which is already in its “feature content complete stage.”

There’s some very impressive breakdown of the numbers included, which really helps convey the sheer scale of the mod, such as the fact that it contains 53 main missions and “over 90,000 lines” of recorded dialogue.

The video also reveals that more announcements will be made leading up to Fallout London’s new release date, so keep an eye out for those!
