Do they really exist? Evidence photo reveals details

Details, evidence, exist, photo, reveals

A few months ago we assumed that there was probably no Super– or whatever models or new editions of the RTX-3000 series from Nvidia will be. We have dismissed rumors accordingly. After all, there are hardly any basic models. And if so, then only at massively inflated prices. The scarcity is now blooming more and more strange, as the following article shows:

For a few days, however, there have been several references to several new editions. The RTX 3080 is to be equipped with 12 GB of video memory instead of the previous 10 GB. In addition, more computing cores should be available. For the RTX 3070 Ti, there is also a memory upgrade from 8 to 16 GByte.

The RTX 3090 Ti, in turn, should benefit from faster video memory modules. Instead of GDDR6X components with 19.5 Gbps it will be 21.0 Gbps according to rumors and leaks. The full 10,792 cores of the GA102 chip should be available for this purpose – the normal RTX 3090 uses 10,496. And even the release should already be known: January 27, 2022, with an announcement as part of the Nvidia keynote at the CES electronics fair on January 4th.

Alleged evidence photo even reveals technical details

Now there also seems to be initial proof of the existence of the RTX 3090 Ti. On the Chinese website ITHome a picture of a packaging appeared, which is supposed to show an Asus Geforce RTX 3090 Ti Tuf Gaming.

What can be seen in the picture?

The colleagues from Videocardz have made a comparison recording. At first glance, the two models look identical. However, if we take a closer look, we see that the RTX 3090 Ti Tuf Gaming has fans with significantly more fan blades. That seems to be necessary, because the RTX 3090 Ti should be able to absorb 100 watts more than the RTX 3090 (450 instead of 350 watts).

Contrary to earlier rumors that spoke of PCIe 5.0 support, the picture from ITHome clearly speaks of PCIe 4.0.

What does that mean for performance?

Faster memory, a little more computing cores and a significantly increased power consumption. Does that mean a noticeable increase in performance? That remains to be seen, but experience has shown that the increase in performance compared to the RTX 3090 should be limited. We don’t believe in more than around five percent.
