Invincible fans may think they know what’s going to happen in season 3 based on what happens in the comics, but it sounds like they won’t know everything.
So far, the animated version of Invincible has been following the storyline almost exactly as it did in the comics. But according to comics co-creator and show creator Robert Kirkman, you shouldn’t expect too much from the upcoming third season. In response to a fan’s question about season 3 during a San Diego Comic-Con panel (via Popverse), Kirkman said: “Do you assume what you know about the comic series is going to happen in the next season? Sometimes you’re going to be wildly wrong. Sometimes you’re going to be a little surprised, sometimes you’re going to be disappointed. Most of the time you’re going to be blown away.”

At Comic-Con, Invincible’s new costume debuted, a blue and black one that signaled that Mark was about to enter a new era of superheroes. “Definitely not scratched or bloodied…” the Invincible official Twitter account wrote sarcastically.
Currently, little is known about Season 3, especially the lack of a specific release date. The first half of Season 2 aired in 2023, with the second half ending in 2024, a move that wasn’t particularly popular with fans, although Kirkman knew it wasn’t particularly popular.
It was also announced at Comic-Con that the show has been renewed for a fourth season, but considering season three isn’t set to air until next year at the earliest, I certainly wouldn’t expect it to air for a while yet.
At least Kirkman spent a lot of time on the panel promoting season three, saying, “Every episode has big things happening, every episode has big endings, every episode has big evolutions in terms of character or story. I’m really excited to finally get to see season three because it’s going to be crazy.” It sounds like you have a lot to look forward to!
