Star Wars: Visions is back for another round of animated one-shots, with its third season (or rather volume three) due out next year.
The world of Star Wars got a bit chaotic in 2019 following the release of the controversial The Rise of Skywalker , and one of the highlights of the various projects over the past few years has been Star Wars: Visions . If you haven’t seen it on Disney+ yet, Visions is an anthology series made up of single episodes, all from different animation studios around the world, mainly Japanese so far, like Cyberpunk 2077 ”’s Studio Trigger, but Season 2 also offers an episode from “Wallace and Gromit” creator Aardman. Those who have already seen it and are hungry for more will be pleased to hear it was announced on StarWars.com that a new season is coming, with some real blood attached.

First off, Studio Trigger is back and their first episode is pretty much an over-the-top, alternate universe, gender-swapped version of the original trilogy, so I’m excited to see what’s planned for this season. There’s also David Production, the studio behind the unique “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”, and Production IG (famous for the original “Ghost in the Shell”). In addition to this, there are WIT Studio (who you may know from working on the first few seasons of Attack on Titan), Kamikaze Douga, Anima, Kinema citrus Co. and Project Studio Q.

The only downside is that a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet – it’s currently slated for 2025, which is right around the corner, but you might have to wait a while.
Meanwhile, Disney and Lucasfilm are clearly considering what to do in terms of movies, with a recent report stating that they are currently considering the possibility of bringing Rey back for a new trilogy of films.
