Pre-orders for the new iPhone 14 are now open and if you’re among those looking to upgrade from the 13 model to the new generation, you’re probably wondering if you can just keep your old iPhone 13 case. However, the answer is rather sobering.
Old iPhone 13 cases on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
The iPhone 14 is only 0.15 millimeters wider than the 13 and such a small difference shouldn’t really be a problem for most cases. The thing is rather that Apple has slightly moved the volume and wake up buttons and that’s why we recommend you to invest in a new case instead, otherwise the operation could be very cumbersome.

The 14 Plus model is a new addition to the iPhone family, so it definitely needs new clothes. Although the dimensions are very similar to the new Pro Max, the Plus is a bit thinner and has the same camera module as the normal iPhone 14.

Old iPhone 13 Pro cases for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
While the changes in dimensions from the regular iPhone 13 to the 14 are very small, the Pro model is quite different. The iPhone 14 Pro is longer, narrower and slightly thicker. While the differences are small, the sum total means you definitely need a new case. On top of that, the camera module of the iPhone 14 Pro is a bit thicker and larger. As with the standard model, the position of the keys has also been slightly changed.

Unfortunately, we also have to disappoint you with the Pro Max. While the difference in length of only 0.1 millimeters is not serious, the changed width and depth add to this.
