Ninetales is a very elegant Pokémon in all its forms, be it in this hypnotic and realistic Alola form, be it in a truly special fusion of Ninetales with Chandelure. Consistent with the latter, there are many who wonder why Ninetales did not become a Fire / Ghost type Pokémon in the Second Generation, because this creature is based on another mythological called Kitsune which, in addition to being able to spit fire, also has nine tails and is capable of create illusions and become spirits
It is an idea that has been raised Gamespot forum fans and that some others had already pondered, but an agreement was not really reached. Despite the fact that the origin of Ninetales suggests that it could be a Ghost type or subtype, we assume that Game Freak did not consider it plausible so as not to delve into the weaknesses of this Fire type. With this we do not say that it would not have been a great Pokémon, or they could have even revised their stats moreBut having as many fans as this design has, perhaps they thought that giving it a more spooky look wasn't really necessary.
Would you like Ninetales out of Fire / Ghost type Or do you prefer to stay in only Fire type? We are somewhat divided. While that would seem like a good idea at the design level, it does not fit us so much that it is a Ghost Pokémon if we cannot reassign points in its statistics, it would have a clear defensive disadvantage that it is already difficult to alleviate with a single guy under his belt.
