Donald Glover prepares for Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Donald Glover reveals the many ways he No is set to co-star with Maya Erskine in the new Mr. and Mrs. Smith series from Prime Video.

Via Entertainment Weekly we learn more Regarding Donald Glover’s creative process on the Mr. and Mrs. Smith series, in addition to co-starring John Smith, he also co-created, co-wrote, and directed (one episode).

During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with co-star Erskine, Glover says he actually tried to take cues from Brad Pitt

In 2005, he co-starred with Angelina Jolie in the film that will be remembered by many. “He didn’t give me any real instructions,” Glover revealed. “He was kind of off the hook like Brad Pitt. He was just kind of obsessed with his way. He was like, ‘Yeah, you Know, you’ll do great.'” We understand Pete. It’s easy to trust Glover with anything, as he’s proven himself time and time again to be one of the most talented (and versatile) artists working today.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the actor behind the iconic character didn’t give newcomers much, if any, guidance, but it sounds like Glover is fresh for the most part, as He also signed up for the Amazon series without even watching Doug Liman’s action comedy

. “Obviously, I’ve seen it now. It would have been terrible if I hadn’t,” he clarified.

What about the routine chemistry testing with Erskine before filming? Are these chemistry tests especially important after Solo: A Star Wars Story castmate Phoebe Waller-Bridge (another busy bee) left the project due to creative differences? He claimed that they were blind: “We didn’t do a chemistry reading or anything… I felt like there was a ripeness for embarrassment that should have been there.”

Bold, but it seems to be paying off, as the reviews it’s received so far are pretty positive.
