Part 2 of our last part has been destroyed. Huge plot details are all over the Internet, listing the end of the game, settings and the fate of the characters.
With these leaks, dozens of people said they were no longer interested in the sequel to Naughty Dog. It's like judging "Crazy Max: The Road to Rage" in the Wikipedia plot summary. Hell, even the Hobbit (Hobbit) has been titled "then come back", because that is the content of the story: a person to go home somewhere.
Spoiler The original "Last Us" and all games with bold titles.
"The Last Us" is about a world destroyed by viruses. This story is taken when a guy named Joel tries to transport Ellie (a girl who is immune to the virus) to an institution so that she can be analyzed to create a cure. When they arrived, Joel changed her mind, liberated her from the operating table, and killed the surgeon. That's it. This is the story.
What makes us so memorable is the way we get there-the journey visualizes the destination. The magic of the game lies in performance, character growth and script. There is no reason to believe that "naughty dogs" will not be dealt with again, especially because the main actors are changing their face.
Let's take a look at the plot summary of a bunch of popular games and see the sound when they lack important background:
Go home
"A woman returned home and found that her sister had escaped her companion, but the parents of the homosexuals did not approve of this."
Gone Home works because it connects the stories by telling the lives of the protagonist's family members. You can browse their items and find notes. The setup is like a time machine, bringing the player back to the mid-1990s – the character of this house is as important as the character itself. Then, the fact is that it deliberately eliminated the first-person horror game that was so popular at the time, convinced players that they were playing something, and then surprised them with a rooted human love story.
Mass effect 2
"Commander Shepard passed away and was revived by a mysterious organization. In exchange for his resurrection, he set off to their mission to make them understand the" collector ", which is a work for insecticides An insect-like alien named "Harvester." He called a staff member, and then they attacked the Collector base, where they battled the giant humanoid robot. "
"Mass Effect 2" literally means bringing the staff together before performing the task before departure. Although the concept of a suicide task where all friends can commit suicide is novel, the journey with these friends gave it impact. Without these, you won't care about whose life or death. In between moments-you can find teammates, specify your favorite, and complete personal tasks for them-making the story memorable and poignant.
Life is weird 2
"A pair of Latin American brothers discovered that the little siblings had strange powers. After the officer shot and killed his father, he accidentally used the power to kill the police. They fled together and tried to cross the Mexican border."
In "Mass Effect 2", you will like a series of characters, here, the Diaz brothers have become the focus of attention. Player choices are used to embed this bond, because you have to consider the impact of your decision on your brother. Finally, you will make judgments based on all your actions, which may lead to some different results. Strange Life 2 uses many tools to deepen the relationship between siblings and make players feel like active participants in siblings. In quiet moments, you can sit and think about things together. In some episodes, you are separated from each other and you have to work hard to reunite. Other roles may weaken your relationship. All these factors work together to establish a strong bond between the player and the character, which is why everything will pay off when you finally reach the border.
Red death redemption
"Previous wrongdoing was forced by government agents to hunt down his old associates. Once he killed everyone, the agent opened him and his ranch was shot."
Red Dead Redemption's ending is usually considered to be one of the best endings in video games. This is all due to John Marston's character arc-his salvation-and the performance of the main actors. Marston's last-minute interactive elements help increase the weight of the scene, and his splashing and death methods after he flooded with bullets have troubled you with a simple scene for a long time.
My point is that you can simplify the essence of the plot. You can even watch the ending cutscenes outside the context. However, none of these can justify the story of the video game. Our media stories are much longer than traditional media: we live with these characters, we grow together, we see them in quiet moments, and stay with them through their trials. All of these are very important for linking destinations.
Of course, there are indeed some real problems, especially from the LGBT community, but I think it is important to wait until we see it fully functioning before making a judgment. Despite the loopholes, I still believe that Naughty Dog can tell its story and theme through "The Last of Us Part 2."
