If you’ve been worried that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 might require a ton of space to install and run – like the 300GB it was listed as on the Xbox Store over the weekend – then good news, it doesn’t appear to be that big.
Yes, stop engaging in the debate about whether the series now being on Game Pass is a good thing for Xbox, and to avoid panic, you can calm down now.

That’s because Activision has now confirmed that the slightly over 300GB figure listed on the pre-order page “does not represent the download size or disk footprint of Black Ops 6.” So no need to worry about having to have enough space for about six copies of The Witcher 3 – according to that game’s Steam space requirements listing of 50GB.
So why is it listed as 300GB? Because it includes “full installations of Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone and all associated content packs, including all localized language combinations” as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

As the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account points out, this “does not represent the typical player installation experience,” as you were given the option to not download all Call of Duty games when you purchased Black Ops 6 in October.
Still, we don’t know the actual number for the file size of BLOPS 6 itself, with Activision stating in the post that an estimated file size “will be announced closer to launch.” Hopefully, the file size won’t be too large, even though we now know that it should be less than 300 if you don’t decide to reinstall all the other entries after playing Marathon.
One thing we do know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is that it will bring back an older reputation system, which is cool.
