It sounds like Dragon Age: Keeper of the Veil will be a complete game, as its director has said that there are currently no plans for any DLC expansions.
A lot of things are pretty annoying since games have become more internet-focused, but I think even now DLC ranks high. What do you mean, I have to pay more money to play more of the story? Okay, let’s ignore for a moment what I did with Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind (and the fact that I would buy the Final Mix version of that game, too, which is also a ridiculous thing for Square Enix to do), because it’s still a bit frustrating when DLC completes a game.

That’s what happened with Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Trespasser expansion, but in a recent interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Veilguard director Corrine Busche assured fans that the upcoming sequel won’t have any similar DLC and that it will be a “complete package out of the box.” Busche explained that she’s a big fan of the Trespasser expansion, but also noted that it’s “so essential to the story of Dragon Age: Inquisition that it arguably should have been part of the base game.”
This, in turn, is a criticism that BioWare takes very seriously and is hoping to avoid with The Veilguard. “We really want to make this as complete a game as we can out of the box, in terms of player experience, story, and everything else. That’s our entire focus right now.”
That’s not to say there won’t be DLC of any kind, as Busche did say “It’s hard to say what the future holds, but I will say that we talked about ‘Should this game end after Act I?’ The answer is a resounding ‘no’ – we need to tell the entire story of The Veilguard.” Additionally, she noted that the series has “rich lore, concepts, characters, and locations” that could be great for DLC, “so never say never.”
Our own Alex recently went hands-on with Dragon Age: Keeper of the Veil and had a very positive review, saying that “the entire game exceeded my expectations.”
