DOOM Eternal will benefit from a new free update that offers a Horde modeannounced Marty Stratton, producer of the game, on the official website. The latter will replace another type of experience that has been planned for some time, Invasion, which would have left players like a demon in someone else’s game. Hence solo content instead of multiplayer.
But don’t worry, the BATTLEMODE is always spoiled by id Software.
As many of you know, we wanted to release a free update for Invasion Mode. However, the unforeseen consequences of the pandemic and remote working have impacted the progress of the development of this additive. During this time we also saw and heard how much you enjoy the gameplay and combat that expansions and mastery levels offer. Because of this, we decided to divert our time and effort previously devoted to Invasion Mode to developing a brand new single-player Horde mode. We are confident that this Horde mode will give you all the variety and difficulty level you are looking for in the game. Additionally, the team continues to work on a general update to BATTLEMODE to include a more competitive rank structure, various gameplay updates and balancing as well as a new map.
The first information will arrive in August during QuakeCon, which will take place online from August 19-21.
DOOM Eternal plays on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.
