Everyone should have noticed that DOOM Eternal hasn’t exactly been one of the unsuccessful titles of the last few months. In fact, the title seems to have filled Bethesda’s coffers quite well.
At least that’s what a LinkedIn post by a former Bethesda employee suggests. The profile has now been deleted, probably because of that statement, but as always the network was faster and has it Entry bunkered in the Resetera forum.
In particular, the statement comes from David Saunders, a former Product Management Lead at Bethesda, and states that DOOM Eternal has grossed a whopping 450 million US dollars within the first nine months of its release. Both publisher Bethesda and developer Id Software should be very happy about this.
The success of DOOM Eternal is not surprising given the qualities of the extremely fast first-person shooter, which not only shone with rapid gameplay and stylish graphics, but also lightning-fast frame rates. In his test for DOOM Eternal, colleague Sascha even described the game as an action masterpiece. The end of the good earnings may not even be in sight, because after a Switch version was recently released, there are still rumors of a VR version of DOOM Eternal.
