Several years after its release, the shooter DOOM Eternal is getting an important new feature: mod support.
Bethesda has given the long-running shooter DOOM Eternal a major new update. The new game version 6.66 Rev 2 brings official mod support for the title, so plenty of new options and content can be expected from the community.
The patch brings with it the public beta of idStudio for mod creators and PC Mod Preview for consumers of modifications to the shooter. Using the latter tool, you can actively search for mods, download them, and play or use them.
Both tools are now available via Steam thanks to the update; these will be available for the Microsoft Store at a later date. To install them, you need to go to the Betas tab in the Steam Library and then select PC Mod Preview in the “Beta Participation” section.
In the Microsoft Store, the call will be made later via the Xbox Insider Hub in the Previews section.
