Despite some predictions, Doom Eternal will not run in true 4K on Stadia.
Instead, those who play Eternal doom On a Stadia equipped with a 4K display, it can sample it up from 1800p to 2160p at 60 FPS.
This is the opposite of what id Software announced when Stadia was made public. Developers said the game was able to "run at true 4K resolution" at 60 FPS. But obviously not. Instead, it increased from 1800p to 4K, which is unrecognizable in motion, but still cannot run at the native 2160p as originally said.
When Google announced the Stasta Pro version, it said that the service was capable of 4K, 60fps streaming playback. But it seems that games like Doom Eternal are being upgraded. This is the same as games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Destiny 2, neither of which can run in true 4K on the service.
Google was asked in November why this was the case, saying that all streams run at 4K at 60 fps, regardless of the actual resolution of the game's rendering, which is actually pushing money to developers.
The company said: "Stadia transfers at 4K and 60 FPS-including all aspects of our graphics pipeline from games to screens: GPUs, encoders and Chromecast Ultra can all be output at 4K to 4K TVs with proper internet connection."
So, in this case, it is up to the developer decision made by ID or Stadia's problem to be seen.
Earlier today, Doom Eternal announced the unlock time and other PC settings, and this version will be released on March 20.
