Valve wants to be more active in the software area again – and they may also have a project around the successful title Dota 2 in the works.
According to the latest rumors, Valve is working on a Dota 2 spin-off that will be called Neon Prime. Apparently they work together with the Dota creator IceFroge. At least that’s what the busy leaker Tyler McVicker claims.
Valve is said to be actively working on this Dota-related project, but it is currently unclear what kind of game it is. Whether it is a new MOBA is not known, but it is not unlikely that it could be a shooter project.
There are also sci-fi references, after all, the game should take up traveling in different dimensions, for example to Ultoria or to the home of The Continuum.
It remains to be seen whether such a project really exists and whether it will see the light of day. After all, Valve is also known for having worked on many projects that ultimately were never published and instead scrapped.
It should also be borne in mind that the leaker McVicker has not always hit the mark in the past. Sometimes he was right in hindsight, but sometimes not; in this respect, the whole thing should also be treated with some caution. The fact is, however, that Valve has already secured a trademark for Neon Prime – and the entry also explicitly refers to the video game sector.
