It’s been a while since Dragon Age 4 has been talked about while being particularly stingy with information. BioWare has therefore decided to say something more and to express itself.
The most anticipated project from the BioWare studio is coveted. That’s the least we can say. That’s why Gary McKay, the studio’s VP, officially took the floor to share some news and information so you can wait.
The different stages of development of Dragon Age 4
As you may know, there are several stages in the development of a game. First, there is the design and pre-production phase, where a team works on the creative vision of the game and starts laying the technical foundations, ie creating the concept and technological roadmap of the game. Iteration and flexibility are crucial in this phase Importance as game ideas and mechanics are suggested, tested and refined. After completion of the project, the production phase begins. Production is about executing the plan: take those ideas and turn them into a working game. Eventually, the team moves into alpha and then into beta, where the game is polished and the special elements really come to life.

something regrets
However, the Vice President also speaks of certain departures that inevitably had a significant impact on the project:
As we continue our journey, we wanted to say a warm farewell to Christian Dailey from BioWare. Christian joined us in 2018 and has been a major influence on our games and management team, most recently as Executive Producer on the development of Dragon Age. The games industry is always changing and sometimes people want to get out and try new things – we understand, but he will be missed as a friend and colleague.
A studio without veterans
The various departures aren’t reassuring for players, but McKay wants to ensure that many veterans with great experience remain in the studio. Like the game’s executive producer, Mac Walters, who recently led development on Mass Effect Legendary Edition and has worked for BioWare for 18 years. Or Corrine Busche, who led the design of Dragon Age and has over 15 years of experience.
You understood, we still have to be patient, but things are moving and developing in the right direction. Dragon Age 4 is expected for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
