Today during Geeked Week 2022, Netflix and BioWare announced new animated series, Dragon Age: Absolution.
The series, which debuts in December, tells a new story set in Tevinter and features a new cast of characters inspired by Dragon Age lore. This includes elves, mages, knights, kunari, red templars, demons and other special surprises.
More details of the show will be announced at a later date.
The series was created in partnership with BioWare and executive produced by Mairgread Scott (Guardians of the Galaxy TV series, Transformers Prime), who also serves as lead writer and showrunner.
Scott is known for creating comics such as Transformers: Till All Are One, Transformers: Windblade, Transformers: Rage of the Dinosaur Robot and Transformers: Beast Hunter. Scott also wrote five episodes of the Transformers Prime series, as well as an episode of Transformers Rescue Bots: Griffin Rock Rescue.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is in charge of animation.
Since Dragon Age: Origins debuted in 2009, the award-winning video game franchise has produced two additional games, four spinoff games, six novels, a board game, numerous comics, toys, a anime movies and two online games. Made the base series.
The next main game in the series, Dragon Age: Dread Wolf, will be a single-player game starring Thoras, one of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s members – if the hints do point to Thoras.
Development on the fourth game in the series initially began in 2015, before the project was canceled in 2017 after the studio decided against adding multiplayer.Following the reboot, BioWare announced in 2018 that the next Dragon Age was in development
BioWare says it will provide more information on Dreadwolf in due time, and will talk more about the game later this year.
