Almost exactly a week after Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released, the developers delivered the first patch, which primarily focused on minor bug fixes. On Steam it is 996.1 megabytes in size and can therefore be downloaded relatively quickly.
We have picked out the most exciting changes for you. You can find all patch notes on page 2.
N7 armor
In keeping with the annual Mass Effect Day (also known as N7 Day), BioWare is giving all fans of sci-fi games some nice cosmetic armor in the game. It looks like this:
Where can I find the armor in the game? Don’t worry, you don’t have to kill an archdemon to equip this fancy outfit. Instead, you simply travel to the lighthouse and step outside the door. There you will find a chest with a small note from Harding on it in front of the in-house upgrade station in the middle of the outdoor area:
3 small improvements for PC gamers
It has only rarely happened in our editorial team. However, if you are one of the unfortunate people who had the game crash on your PC, this could now be solved by applying the patch.
Additionally, a bug in the options that caused DLSS fields to be grayed out for owners of an Nvidia 40 series graphics card has also been fixed. So now they are finally usable. The game has also been upgraded to XeSS version 1.3.1. This refers to Intel’s AI-enhanced upscaling (Intel Xe Super Sampling).
If you only understand train stations here, it’s best to take a look at our explanatory article on upscaling:
If you have already read through the patch notes, you may have also stumbled upon the following point:
NPC necks no longer just keep watch
The point is currently worrying, for example under the X posting about the patch for a lot of amusement, since many people didn’t know (and neither did we) that apparently one or two NPCs secretly became giraffes. In addition, the friends are bigthat Rook can now dodge the Demon of Wrath’s fire circle properly – always.
Of course, here and there in the comments there are also comments about the big discussions surrounding Dragon Age: The Veilguard. If you are interested in our opinion on this, we recommend our talk with Leya, Heiko and Micha:

Dragon Age 4 Controversies: Is It Still Bioware?
Otherwise, there are many smaller detail improvements such as Harding now having arrows in her quiver or various pop-ins or texture errors have been fixed. But as I said: you can read the rest on page 2.
What do you think of the first patch? Does it bring any important innovations for you or is it all just warmed-up coffee from Neve? Does the new armor appeal to you? Write it to us in the comments!
