Dragon Age: The Veilguard didn’t need a huge day 1 patch, but a few problems still crept in. The first patch is fast approaching.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was one of the technically most well-rounded AAA titles released this year. In our test phase, which lasted around 100 hours, we had almost no bugs or problems to complain about – two crashes due to excessive CPU load and rudimentary graphics problems really aren’t much and there wasn’t really anything to complain about in terms of performance, at least on our test computers.
However, a few problems were discovered and we were actually able to reproduce one of them (grayed out DLSS settings). A first patch is now expected to follow this week, as Bioware confirmed on X/Twitter. Concrete patch notes will not follow until the update is published, but there was still an outlook.
Accordingly, the update should contain a number of bug fixes and balancing optimizations, and the causes of crashes will also be eliminated. And the problem with the grayed out DLSS options should also be fixed, as well as sporadic resets of companion skill points (which, by the way, did not occur in our test). An exact date for the release of the update should follow shortly.
It looks like there won’t be more than one or more patches for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The question about possible DLCs has already been rejected. Apparently the team is now devoting itself to the final bug fixes in order to then throw themselves full force into the new Mass Effect, which is supposedly still in pre-production.
