With the recently renamed Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare is probably working on one of the hottest role-playing games to be released this year. As part of the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, a first trailer was finally released and it shows a lot. We’ll summarize for you what there was to see.
There was still no exact release date at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, 2024, so we’re sorry to disappoint you. But with fall 2024, BioWare at least had a rough time frame in mind for when Dragon Age: The Veilguard would be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S, of course from day one in the Game Pass.
There were no gameplay scenes to be seen, instead the video focuses on characters and companions as well as group dynamics. With their banter, what is shown is sometimes pleasantly reminiscent of the Guardians of the Galaxy or similarly friendly troops.
The trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard actually featured two old acquaintances, the dwarves Varric and Harding. You already met them in Dragon Age: Inquisition and from what it looks like in the video, Harding can at least join you as a companion.
The other characters shown are rather unknown, but we at least know their names and professions: There is the detective Neve, the magician killer Lucanis, the veil jumper Bellara, the necromancer Emmerich, the guardian Davrin and the dragon hunter Taash. Lots of potentially interesting characters.
And another piece of good news to end the game: We will also soon be getting the first gameplay scenes for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which are scheduled to be released on June 11, 2024.
