From then on you will have access to various hidden rooms and other secret areas that can be unlocked thanks to the Dragon Breath of Taashbut also and above all Puzzles that hide priceless treasures. However, the steps leading to their resolution are not always provided, as you may notice when you arrive in the area “Guard Castle”.
At this point, if you go down the stairs on the right and use Taash’s powers to clear the crystals blocking your path, You’ll find a small corridor with three shields on a wall, a skeleton with a letter, and a locked door. If you read the letter, you will understand that the coats of arms hanging on the wall are actually castles and you will unlock the quest “The Vault of the Guards” This will allow you to open it to find out what’s behind the door. Lock No. 1 of the Guard Vault
To open the first lockyou have to return at the entrance to the Gardeburg. On the right you will see a wall that you can destroy with Taash’s dragon breath. Immediately to the left of the opening you just created you will find a recess with 3 shields on a wall. Turn them on 3 torches which they overlook, and you will hear a noise.
To find out its origin, go to the upper floor and you will see that a lever has appeared underneath 3 more flame shields. Pull the lever to open the door and you will gain access to a chest. but above all to another lever that makes it possible to open the first lock of the guards’ vault.
Lock No. 2 of the Guard Vault
To open the second castleHead a little further into the Château des Gardes, particularly southwest of the vault. In a small area open to the outside you will find an impaled skeleton with green butterflies flying around. Examine the corpse and a ghost will appear.
You need to Follow that spirit in the guards’ castle, but unlike you, this one can go through walls. Fortunately, he won’t go far and you will be able to find him on another skeleton just north. Approach him and the spirit will invite you to follow him again.
This time you’ll find it a little further north, on a skeleton right next to the entrance to the Château des Gardes. But your little game of hide-and-seek isn’t over yet and you have to pursue it one last time.
You’ll find the ghost in the south, in the back of the large room where the vault is locatedto the right of the large statue. Approach the ghost and it will reveal an opening in the wall. There you will find a lever with which you can open the second lock of the guard vault.
Lock No. 3 of the Guard Vault
To open the third lockyou have to go to the courtyard south of the Château des Gardes. On the right you will see a structure that Taash can destroy with his dragon breath, resulting in destruction a ladder. This allows you to ascend to the third floor to recover a will-o’-the-wisp.
Approach him to make him follow you and return on the lower floor. Return to the Guards’ Castle from the nearest entrance, where you will see crystals that need to be smelted using Taash’s powers. Come and place the will-o’-the-wisp at the opening in the wall at the end of the corridorand a skeleton opens the door next to it. Behind this door you will find a chest, but also the lever with which you can open the third and final lock of the guard vault.
