Dragon Age: Veil's latest patch sounds like it could be the last major update for the game, based on the wording used in the “order.”

This is the fifth post-release patch Veilguard has received since its release at the end of October last year, and while they're primarily about the types of bug fixes and tweaks you'd expect, BioWare has also used these updates to add things like extra Mass Effect Equipment and stuff like that.

This time, though, BioWare's news comes with the bust of the change, which is a bit interesting. It reads: “Thank you everyone for playing Dragon Age: Veil, we were very pleased with the game's stability at launch and hope you enjoy our quality of life patches from then on.

“With the game in a stable position, we will be motivated to monitor for any breaking bugs should these exploits occur.

Dareth Shiral, if you're not a master of the elvish language of Thedas, means “farewell” or, more literally, “safe journey.” So could this be the end of major updates to Veil, with the Manfred-esque skeleton crew left to sort out any big issues that arise from here on out? This isn't 100% clear, but it sounds clear.

As for Patch 5 itself, it includes a bunch of bug fixes in addition to one quality-of-life change, namely that “recommended levels have been added to side quests that players may earn at lower levels.”

The bug fixes are as follows:

  • Fixed an issue where Rook could only flirt with Lucanis in certain conversations.
  • Fixed an issue where the Dire Wolf quest was sadly not triggering correctly or stopping Rook on an invisible wall at an intersection.
  • Resolved a barrier blocking issue in the Convergence City area at the intersection.
  • Fixed an issue with the “Imperium's Resolve” armor dealing negative damage instead of the expected zero fire, cold, necrotic and electrical damage.
  • Fixed excessive clipping of Taash's “Legacy of Rivain” armor.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some noobs from changing runes on their Lyrium Dagger.
  • Fixed an issue with the Warrior’s Medium Armor Mastery skill.
  • Fixed a spot on Rivain's Beach where Rook could get stuck in a drowning loop and never be removed from the water by a companion.
  • Fixed a typo on the notes that Rook can find in Dock Town.
  • Fixed an issue resulting in noticeably worse photo mode screenshots when HDR was turned “ON”.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the photo mode screenshot location to remain displayed on the screen.
  • Fixed an issue that caused fireflies in open areas of intersections to flash at an alarming rate on certain settings.
  • Fixed a lighting issue during a conversation with the entire team in the lighthouse.
  • Fixed an issue in the Transform Mirror that prevented players from zooming in and out with the mouse wheel.
  • Fixed an issue where objective markers were not updated when the exploration preset was changed with other options in the exploration subcategory.
  • Some adjustments to game credits.

Earlier this week, EA revealed that Veilguard was “underperforming” with Footy Behemoth EA Sports FC 25. Did you wish the latest Dragon Age entry had received more updates? Let us know below.
